Time to talk about FOMA, Season 10 is better than Thanksgiving, FOMO Therapy, PatGPT
Dear Fellow FOMO Sapiens,
Buckle up because it’s time to talk about the things you need to know now:
FOMA is in Full Swing.
Season 10 is Even Better Than Thanksgiving.

PatGPT: The Big Secret (Shhhh!!) to Not Saying Yes to Everything
FOMA is in Full Swing
Last month, I finally was able to tell you all about FOMA. Fear of Missing Audience is getting lots of buzz in the world of marketing since my collaboration with Mercado Ads, part of Mercado Libre, dropped last month. But that is just the start of a beautiful collaboration. Together with Mercado Ads, I am in it to win it. So, I wanted to share a few things that you might enjoy if you’re feeling the FOMA.
The official full (60-second) FOMA commercial starring….ME! If you liked the shorter 30-second ad, you’ll love the longer one. There is…..SO. MUCH. ACTING. Click the link or check it out below.
Check out some articles on the campaign in Forbes Argentina and Fast Company Brasil.
Watch my very special video edition of FOMO Sapiens talking FOMA with the Chief Digital Marketing Officer of L’oreal Argentina, Gaby Perez Millon. If you want to practice your Spanish (or if you already speak it) then this one’s for you.
Season 10 is Even Better than Thanksgiving
Ok, that’s a lie. There is nothing better than Thanksgiving. But, Season 10 is pretty tasty in its own right. My latest guests have included:
Jeweler and entrepreneur Zameer Kassam on how he’s revolutionizing his industry through storytelling
Michael Gervais, high-performance coach to organizations like the Seattle Seahawks,
Melinda Arons, news producer and one of the team that produced the January 6th Committee meetings, and
Famed executive coach and venture capitalist Jerry Colonna, who is also the host of the Reboot podcast.

Next up, we have a VERY SPECIAL DOUBLE EPISODE featuring Tristan and Jordan Mace.
Now, Tristan and I have been friends for years. He’s a well-known entrepreneur and early-stage investor and just a great guy. He also became the recipient of a new heart after suffering multiple organ failure very suddenly in 2020. Since then, it’s embarked on a mission to improve the US organ donor system alongside his wife, tech executive Jordan Mace. Our conversation is so meaningful and so packed that I decided to make it a double episode, timed to coincide with Thanksgiving, because I am so thankful to have friends like the Mace’s and their story is incredible. This is a must-listen episode.
FOMO by Patrick J. McGinnis™: FOMO Therapy
As you know, I love to conduct a little FOMO therapy session sometimes on FOMO Sapiens.
During my convo with Melinda Arons, we got INTO it on FOMO, its causes, its power over us, and how we combat it, although not always successfully... After we kicked it off, what followed was a fascinating discussion that was so great it deserved its own stand-alone FOMOndays episode. You can check it out here.
PatGPT: The Big Secret (Shhhh!!) to Not Saying Yes to Everything
In my conversation with Melinda, I shared some of my newest thinking about how to combat FOMO. My big new strategy? Wait 48 hours.
I have found that things that seem very exciting and tempting are far less so after 48 hours. By that time, all the dopamine associated with the new and the unknown has dissipated and you can process things with a clearer head. So, the next time something seems like you just have to do it or have it and you fear missing out, wait 48 hours before you make a decision.
Caveat: if the cause of your FOMO is that pie sitting on the Thanksgiving table in front of you, that strategy is not going to work. So I suggest eating it (maybe even splitting it) and living your best life. After all, it’s Thanksgiving!
